Hello I'm Sam. I am a Visual Effects Artist with a background in traditional mediums and a profound love of animals and nature. I am interested in pursuing a career in bringing to life magical experiences. My skills have been centered around the creation of creatures but can span several categories of 3D art. I have always been very passionate about movies, TV Shows, and video games. Recreating that addictive feeling of wonder is what I became a VFX artist for. In my heart, I am a sculptor of modern technology. I am simply using today's tools to create art in the medium enjoyed by the most people.

Solving problems and finding creative solutions is what I live for. I can't seem to stop asking "why" or "how" and then I investigate until I figure it out. Though I live for art, my brain is rather mathematic. I used to be on a math team growing up and I think that may have played a role in shaping the way I approach things. As it turns out procedural workflows are inherently my new favorite because they are nondestructive and ultimately based in logic.

Additionally, I manage properties in Savannah, GA. I rent out 9 rooms at any given time with leases ending at different times of the year. It's my responsibility to ensure positive cash flow, fix minor issues with the houses, find tenants, create contractual agreements, and address any and all questions related to the properties. This has taught me a lot of important life lessons regarding people and their behaviors, financial management, as well as time management. I did this while being a full-time student and maintaining a 3.92 GPA.

I played sports my entire life. I'm still a very active person. In High School I played varsity Golf and Softball. If Ping Pong and cornhole were offered, I would have played those too. I love to get in on some friendly competition whenever I can. My time playing sports taught me to value everyone's unique skills and how to be part of a successful team. I will be bringing that mindset with me for life.

2022, my senior year at SCAD, was filled with some great moments. I competed in Game Jam as a Creative Director and Lead Character Artist with a team that would turn into my very best friends. We ended up winning Best of SCAD's Game Jam and 2nd best in GA overall. Later, I competed in SCAD Sand Art's Festival with my best friend and my boyfriend, and we won Best Sand Relief. And finally, my Harpoon Horse Saddle was featured in SCAD's Entelechy Showcase, winning Best Key Art. And then I was offered a great opportunity to work at Arthrex as a 3D modeling and Animation intern for the Summer. Where I was later offered a full-time job as a 3D Medical Animator. I am currently working for Arthrex fully remote.  #ArthrexProud.

I am currently located in Los Angeles, CA, living with my boyfriend who is a Visual Effects Artist. We are constantly creating, reading, or enjoying our many pet fish or playing with our new Australian Shepherd puppy.
